Which division of Landstar are you leased to? I am filling out an intelliapp for Landstar, but not sure what division to put down I am applying for? I had conversations with @Dave_in_AZ before about leasing on to landstar but didn't. I went somewhere else and really am not liking the games I get from them. I get 80%, 100% FSC and "100% fuel discount" but there are many things that don't make sense where I am leased to. I definitely am not grossing no $4400 in 3 days time to my truck where I am at, either. I realize not every week would be like that, even at Landstar, but from all I have gathered Landstar is a really good company to be leased on to. I just went Landstar Ranger on my application. Here's to hoping all goes well.

One thing is for certain it seems the freedom aspect of Landstar is unmatched by most any company out there. Current company I am leased to will just text me on a whim, when they KNOW my truck is in the shop or something, or that I am on hometime until a certain date trying to push me to take a load. When the truck is in the shop is the most annoying time. "Keep me updated", while leaving the load booked to my truck. That rattles my chains. If it's in the shop, and I haven't said I have picked it up, clearly you shouldn't just be expecting me to pick up whatever load.

I make less than that $1.98 probably 90% of the time where I am leased to now since November. The company I am with does what they can, don't get me wrong but their customer rates are all over the place. Took one load that paid well in my opinion to New Jersey, picked up another load that I deadheaded 50 miles for that went back to that same customer but paid significantly less going back than it did going out.

You just apply to Landstar, they will decide whether you go to Inway or Ranger.

I applied and hadn't heard a word from them. According to driver pulse my application hasn't even been assigned to a recruiter yet. Guess they have a long line of folks wanting to come on with them, for seemingly good reasons.

It’s a long and tedious on boarding process, it can take as long as 3 to 4 weeks to get accepted.

I applied with them back in 2019 and called them a few days later and was told they would get in touch with me in a couple of weeks.
After a couple of months, I didn't hear a thing, so I decided to do something else.
They finally got back to me at about the four month mark and said I'm in but by then I was happy with where I was at and never looked back.

Where's that at? I'm sure all companies have loads you have to eat it on. Place I'm leased to now just seems to be really cheap. FSC right now is like 26 cents per mile. Companies that post their FSC rates, not all but majority of them 26 cpm is when national average of fuel is like 3 bucks or less per gallon.

That's a joke. FSC on my last check was $0.50 where I'm leased on right now.
