Is hauling Crude oil a reliable career as an O/O?

The worst drivers I ever encountered all had chili peppers on the license plate. It's amazing some of them were issued driver's licenses.

 

This is great advice. Much more security to work for someone who buys the oil they pull.

I haul oil in the Permian and know for a fact that Oasis Transportation has been moving towards hauling by O/Os. They are about 60% O/Os now and I believe they have trailers if you don’t have your own. Oasis is a first purchaser.

 

What other options would you recommend? I’m in Austin and would like to operate my own truck. I’m also open to driving for someone if the money is right

 

I think two things are extremely clear over the course of the next two decades:
1)The continued societal pressure for young women to have ever-larger buttocks
2)The demand for oil outstripping supply
The Really, Really Big Picture

 

In Austin you can stay really busy hauling fuel, rock, cement, or ready-mix concrete.

If you don't mind leaving the Austin area and want to work in the oilfield, your best bets are San Antonio, Midland, Houston, and Kilgore.

 

Oil crashed hard in 2010. After the mortgage bust.

With ev's coming out. That's going to put a big dent in demand.

 

We won't be drilling as much either. For years to come.

Think of the beauty. No more air filters or spark plugs. No more oil changes or gas purchasing.

And cleaner air. California might see the sun again.

This is only going to get worse as more ev hit the road and the availability of public charging isn't going up accordingly.

There are many issues regarding the mass adoption of evs, it's a topic in and of itself.

I don't see oil or gasoline and diesel going anywhere anytime soon.
