That is a preventable accident. You accidentally turned into the wrong address and had you been paying attention to the signage, it would have been prevented. It happens. Just tighten up.

Something even sillier. OD will consider it a "Preventable Incident" and you will lose safety bonus if you get stuck in a customer dock that you were delivering at because they didn't plow/treat the doc ramp for snow/ice. Conversely you will get talked sternly to for not attempting the delivery.
tscottme, gentleroger and Chinatown Thank this. -

As someone finally experiencing what the younger generation is like in the workforce, all I can say is we had better be studying our Chinese language textbooks because there is zero hope for this country. "I want to do as little as possible, do it in a half-*** manner, get a trophy for showing up on time 2 days in a row, and be immune from any customer complaints. Oh, and any company policy I disagree with can't be used to judge my performance. Do I get to be CEO now or does that happen after my 3 month vacation?" -

Another Schneider veteran here.
One of the advantages of running with/for Schneider is they used to (and I gather, still do) give out a trucking "bible"...or reference manual, to their incoming drivers.
There's a different version for each division. There's one for dry van. There's a different one for intermodal. There's yet another one for bulk (tanker).
While these manuals aren't perfect--they do contain quite a bit of very valuable and useful info on the different areas of successfully driving a big rig.
Should you not already have one of these manuals--when back at a terminal, be sure to ask for one.
Spend some real time reading through what's in that manual...or "bible"....the info in it will later save you from a lot of headaches/problems....like this one.
If you have already done so--go back and do it, again.
In that case--it's time for a "refresher".
--Lualtscottme and gentleroger Thank this.
