Apparently it takes 5 hours to disassemble 30K lbs of chicken. Had a fun night of midnight trucking thru the backroads of GA and TN. Will continue on to the 3rd world nation of West Virginia later today for some more backwoods trucking.![]()

Heh.. Sounds fun bootlegger.. Man.. I messed up and followed their routing out of an 01 once in ga.... It was crazy.. They put me on this small little back road where I was lucky enough to encounter corners to small for my truck and towns that had not so friendly truck turns... It was a mess.. I'm surprised I didn't wreck or my trailer didn't kiill someone comming round those uber small bends...

yep, i was right. I was the Yard Dog in Marshall Mo. had to tk 2 trls to go get fixed. 1 to Thermo king because the refer control pad was smashed to bits and the other one had stripped gears in the landing gear. Now back to the drop yard to deliver americold 1 block away from the yard.

That is about the time I have waited for fryer parts, quarters, breasts etc.
I waited 12 hours for tenders one time. 2 trucks were loaded with the other parts while I sat there and I was the first one at the facility, and the load numbers were screwed up. So originally I had been getting a load of quarters, then it was changed to tenders.
The other guys were hours gone when I left.
Also had to have the refer temp down to 28 before we could pull off the lot. Well that takes a while when the load was alive just before I started the unit.
On that scaling trick.
I used it as a theory for a while till I got use to doing it and checking it.
But when I would get loads out of Bethlehem to Johnstown NY, I would have to cross the Jersey scale before I could get to a Cat scale to check it. All the loads I would take out of there were close to gross. But the worst I ever hit the scale house was 200 over on my drives and they let me pass. -
I just wanted to update: Rhino turned his truck in a couple weeks ago. All you L/O that wouldn't or don't even get enough miles to make the truck payment understand why. He was there about a yr and a half. So school all paid for. He really hated being gone from his family. I know everyone does but it was really eating him up. He has a job driving for Advance Auto Parts. We live near Knoxville so he will be driving to Atlanta and Birmingham places like that. He works 4 days on and 3 off. So not that bad. Even tho the pay is lower it will still figure out to be more weekly after you figure in living on the road and running a household. And not to even mention all the checks he owed Central for running THEIR loads!!!! And so happy we don't have to deal with payroll every week just to try and get what money is owed to him.
For the first yr it was good and got us out of a hard place financially. But the last 6 months was bull crap! I wish everyone the best. Driving with Central is just luck of the draw. You just don't know if you will be the sucker that loses everything you have or the one that someone likes or is to busy screwing someone else over to worry bout you. Keep your eyes open and don't believe a THING they tell you. Because 9 times out of 10 it's not true. Like I've always said bout Central, "You gotta play the player!"
grass widow, jtrnr1951 and jess-juju Thank this. -
I dont know if they can do that... What about all the drivers who live in CA. how would they get their hometime? Not to mention Kraft probably has more than 1 DC in CA. They can decide to pull their account if Central refuses CA. I know alot of the small carriers will probably refuse CA since they cant really afford the equipment. But I wouldnt be too sure about the big carriers.

Well they could have a West Coast fleet, and trailers that are carb compliant for the reefer rules that only operate in california made up of drivers from California
-
interesting... i live in CA
-
what about the dole run out of california too...
-
They could do alot of things dedicated trailers for the 11 but how many do they get. Maybe they will do away with all p/l each driver will have his or her own trailer nope. It's all about the money the 11 western would have to grow twice its size in order to run the east coast. As for the CA drivers if you want to get home you would have to lease a truck that way the fuels on you. They want an all lease company so they say lease or find a new job. Cross docking won't work who will break the seal unless it's a trusted company but now your paying the xtra costs. CA Kraft is not the same as the east coast Kraft. I think pulling out sounds right the cost may be to high CA drivers company that is can pay for ther fuel to get home you pay for over idle don't you. Time will tell I haul beer there but I don't think this will hurt Coors. Will just have to sit back and wait.
