Hello all,
So I have a DD60 engine in a truck I use. Lately, the engine keeps stalling out due to fuel loss (despite the tank still being halfway full), and it's happening somewhere between the primary fuel filter and the fuel tank. There is no fuel leaking anywhere, but once the primary fuel filter is empty, it's only a couple of seconds before the engine starts to stall, which requires me to go back and refuel the filter again.
Any help?

I drove a International Prostar that that had a split draw tube in the tank. Since it was integral to the tank the whole tank had to be replaced. So cracked fittings, bad lines and draw tube would be something to consider. Also, trash sucked up into the draw tube or lines.
little cat 500 Thanks this. -
Have you Blocked the Line where it goes into tank and then put pressure in where it goes onto the primary filter to see if the line has any leaks ? It could also be the pickup tube inside the tank
Also it could be the suction line collapses on the inside blocking fuel off -
I'm having the same problem. Mine only does it in the morning tho. The first start it takes really long to fire up but after it is fired up it is good for the rest of the day.

Start simple... o-rings on fuel filter housing, cap, replace after every use.. I tried leaving the old one in there once thinking well i only changed it 15k miles ago and it still looks good... nope. Lost prime after sitting for 10 min off.

Sounds like the check valve’s bad on the head return line. Easy fix.Jubal Early Times Thanks this.
