i have a take 3 powerlift 5 and a dodge ram 3500. the trailers gvwr on there website is 20000. for cdl reasons i had take 3 retag it for 12999. the truck is rated at 12200. my question is if i hit a weigh station over the 12999 am i gonna be screwed?

that info on that page is incorrect u have to look at the info sheet on that page. the trailer was originally rated at 20000 when it was built i had them change the tag on it sayin it was 12999 the truck is 12200 so the combined is 25200 (under the 26000). the trailer itself weighs around 7 or 8000. so what i am wondering is if i have 4 cars at 4000lbs a piece 16000 combined and my trailers tag says 12999 am i going to be in trouble?

so my next question is do they even look at the sticker on the trailer? if my commercial plates on the trailer are good for 30000? sorry for all the question i am confused as hell.

I give up . I will tell you I just had a level 2 inspection in TN Saturday and he did look at the GVWR sticker on the tractor and there was a space on his inspection form for it .

if you had them put a 12000 sticker on it.. yep you will be over weight.. yes they will look at sticker.. why would you have a 20000 rated trailer only show 12000.. that dont make sence.. 4000 x 4 is over your 12000.. math dont lie..neither does scales.. -
oh i get.. you dont want to have to get a cdl? but still you will be over.. 16000 in cars.. puts you over.. lol
