Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Same. Ain't nothing going on around here. They got two loads leaving the yard today, neither of which I have the hours for thanks to Amazon putting 4 hours of detention on me last night. Be glad when freight picks back up.

 

Parked two hrs from BH in Naples in a rest area. Didn’t think Id find a spot closer on a Sunday. If they can’t plan me today for tomorrow Ill be stuck down here since my 14 will be caught up by the time ppl get in tomorrow. Not sure where they would send me from Naples. Only place Ive been to was Coke plant in Dunedin over this side of FL.

 

They've deadheaded me up towards Atlanta before.

 

On the upside, there's a new Indian restaurant near the yard. Down Route 1, near Hundred Rd. Little shopping center on the right with the movie theater and the Food Lion and the Office Depot. Opened up four months ago according to the waiter. What I ate was pretty good, and I scored enough grub for the fridge to last me the next week.

 

Ended up preplanned to pickup a load of beef in Lakeland, Fl tomorrow after empty going to Jackson, Ms. Only downside is unload at 1900 Tuesday. Supposed to be overnight parking though at receiver.

 

Welp, if you're in Richmond or points south, don't head north on I-95. 18-wheeler accident at MM125 that occurred about 10 minutes before I hit the traffic backup. Been stationary for an hour. I expect to be stationary for at least one more.

 

The wreck that kept me parked on I-95 for over an hour turned out to be a tractor-trailer where the entire tandem assembly for the trailer came off. Not sure how or why, but the tandem assembly was sitting off by itself in a twisted heap when I finally passed by. Looks like it required two heavy tow trucks to get the truck and trailer off the freeway and over on the shoulder.

 

Going to have to use split sb tomorrow to get to receiver on time.
