With our better understanding of the building process, we should start now building 100 or so nuclear power plants across the US. It takes approx 5-6 years to complete, so the longer they drag their feet, the worse the power grid gets. And Yucca Mt storage site was almost complete when they decided to stop. There is enough room to store all of the waste we have generated to date, with plenty of room for a lot more.
And why are they worried about what happens in 10,000 years? We won't be around to complain.
