Hazmat Endorsement

42 days so far and still nothing. Have you got your approval yet?

You would think they would not be slow about this with all this talk about fuel shortages.

 

I received my approval and TWIC within a few hours, and it was on a Saturday. Literally by the time I got back home I received an email from the company who provided the service. Military ties might have something to do with it.

As a new driver, I applied because most of the local jobs that were interested in me require hazmat + tanker or hazmat + doubles.

 

You got your hazmat within hours?. What state was this. Mine was close to 60 days and it was a renewal not a new application. TWIC when I renewed a couple years ago was a same day deal.

 

Not sure if the state had anything to do with it since they use a third party. I was also already TSA pre-check because of the military, apparently.

 

Didn't know third parties did Hazmat. Always understood that had to come straight from Homeland Security/TSA. I had TSA pre-check with my TWIC, still had to wait a while for hazmat

 

That’s accurate. The third party acts as the collection site for the fingerprints and required documents. It’s forwarded to TSA. TSA forwards to DMV. Still took place same day.

 

Mine just came back in 7 hours, applied at tsa location at 11am , received email of eligibility at 648pm, first time application. Was worried it would take 60+ days.

Maybe prior military helps?
