My husband worked as a O/O under a Lease Purchase agreement thru PGT from Jan to April last year. I'm trying to get all of our tax information together so when the 1099 comes in we can go file our taxes. I just had a question. When we get our 1099, does anyone know if the total gross paid to my husband will include fuel in there to? Fuel money was advanced to him every load he got and taken straight out of his pay. Any help with this is appreciated.
Tax question if anyone can help

Depends on the company.
I did the return for a guy that leased and the company sent a 1099 out for the net amount. Gross less fuel and truck payment. -
If it was gross, then the total shouldn't include fuel or anything else. it should just be the total amount he was paid. When he was advanced $$$$ for fuel, that's still income. (even if it was through a company/LO fuel card)

I have seen it both ways. You never know what they are going to send.

Ok, I've never done the itemized deductions before and am using an online tax software that does not help much but it has business expense, travel expense and the Meals deductions all separate. Im trying to figure out where everything besides meals goes..Like toiletries, laptop, and whether or not I can deduct my husband's psp and games he bought for his own entertainment in the truck..His laptop has his GPS in it and he primarily uses that in the truck since I have a computer at home..If anyone can help me decipher all of this I would be greatly appreciative.

I do deduct my GPS, laptop, Printer & supplies, I use a CPA so cant help you with how to deduct them with a tax software.
bleueyes44883 Thanks this. -
The tax software online I use offers services if audited it's not a high cost but I've always gotten great returns from them so that is why I decided to continue to use them this year
