To all of you boneheaded politicians who pass asinine laws.....
We'll take care of the snow and ice on our rigs if you prohibit dumbazzed 4-wheelers from driving on the roads when it rains, snows.....when it's windy or when it's dark...Remember it's all about "Safety"....

    Thank you.....America's truckers.....

    kajidono and outerspacehillbilly Thank this.

Hate to play the devil's advocate here, but I've had a several hundred pound ice sheet slide off a trailer as I passed a van up in Michigan - cracked my windshield and nearly ran the person behind me off the road. Admittedly this was an old trailer from some local outfit. Trailer roof designs seem to be better these days as they don't allow for such big ice sheet buildup, and you don't see this as often.

Though I can't imagine trucking companies equipping all thier trailers with ladders, or allowing drivers to climb up there if you consider the workmans comp claims. Or how we could even stand up there since the roofs are fibreglass anyway.

All it takes is one politician, or celebrity (ever here the Sean Hannity trucker rants?) to experience a "fluke" out on the road - then they actually start "working" for a change passing these useless laws.

That's your safety. They don't care about that. I don't think they understand that the roof isn't designed to have 200 pound people walking around on them with a snowshovel.

Maybe you shouldn't have been following so close. I don't think you are going to get hit with ice if you had reasonable following distance.

Step 1.) Climbs up onto trailer
Step 2.) Jumps off into snow pile
Step 3.) Calls "Amber Lamps" and "Lawya"
    Step 4.),,,, Profit?

Nah, but I bet you somebody will. And the only thing that will change,,,, is we'll have to climb up on that truck, only after we put on the neon yellow vest.

Yea, but ya ever drive in a storm and your DM is pushin ya? When you get there your whole van is one giant block of ice and you have to use the mallot to open your doors. How much is that one gonna cost cause I am not gonna climb on top of that, you are gonna get blown off, its pure ice.
