I blew a tire a few weeks ago and ended up sideways across three lanes. No one hurt, no damage to anything -- I thought that I was pretty lucky. Now a scumsucking lawyer in California is telling me that a couple of drivers are seeking legal action against me because I caused them economic damage. When I asked what that meant, he said like they were late for a meeting, got docked an hour from their job, and so forth. Has anybody heard of this?!

Well, first off, I would laugh the lawyer plum into the next county. And secondly, after landing across 3 lanes, why didn't you get it straightened out and park on the shoulder?

This is one of those cases (not that it's really a case) I would like to see on Judge Judy. I'm willing to bet, she would rip that attorney a new one. :biggrin_25523:

Does this mean the three miles of backed-up traffic because of a major accident has the right to make a claim against their insurances ? :biggrin_25524:

does this mean that we can start suing the 4 wheelers that cause massive pile ups and delays to our schedule?
maybe we should start doing it if it goes through.

When an attorney talks to you, if you don't have your attorney present, you better not say a word!

Ok, im going to have a lawyer hassle the 4 wheeler morons every time they have an accident causing me a delay. I make a lot per drive hour so if i lose a drive hour, that hurts me. I've estimated around $14 to $20 a drive hour depending on the load.

You can sue for anything, does not mean you would win. I think its just someone yanking your chain. Give them to your insurance, there not going to collect.
