I really wish people would read the fmcsa advisory page, PC is not a law and it is not a regulation, it is just something that has been allowed and fmcsa was asked to comment on it and it screwed up a lot.

Pc is supposed to be used with reasonable amount miles and time to move to a place to eat or sleep.

It is not to be used to drive 300 miles home and is used with permission of the company.

 

This is true, the CFR does not define any duty status that we regard as "Personal Conveyance". It is simply the same thing as Off Duty with a stated reason and may require further explanation if challenged.

 

I have always believed my family or emergencies come ahead of work. I would go home the fastest way possible whether it was in the truck or plane. I had one boss tell me when I was on the clock I answered to him no matter what. Within a few months I had a new boss. Forget what's legal or illegal. Get home.

 

Me too. But you still don't want to use PC past the 14.

 

Why not? The whole point of PC is personal. As in non commercial. As in outside of HOS.

 

It is necessary to be very careful when driving in a state of increased emotions.
