Peterbilt dash freeze after recall fix

Lol, I have to idle sometimes when someone with a APU parks next to me. The sound of a lawnmower running next to my head is a no go..

 

Someone had a technical name for it on TTR but I can’t remember. I don’t think it’s an actual regen. I can shut it off when I’m in traffic with the disable/manual switch. It’s a pia in traffic when it kicks on.

 

Luckily mine makes no noise except when the AC is on and that is just the fan, No motor to make all that crazy noise.

 

Mine has a hold function on it when it first starts up to heat up. If it is real real cold it will do it as well but only had it do that once or twice it seems. I wonder if you put a heavy load on if it might clean it out and let you keep going. On my other truck I had the samething happen to me and if I had run a heavy load during that time it would finally get rid of the Emissions lights and then be fine. I think it was having a problem with doing regens because the idle time was too much.

 

I made it to the FJ in Post Falls and the derate came back on. Looks like it ain’t gonna fix itself!
Luckily there’s a dealership 5 miles away.

What kind of APU do you have that’s quiet like you say ?

 

Man that sucks and I know exactly where you are at. They had a real nice Mexican place in that little shopping center thing. It was very good but has since died not to long after covid hit. Was one of my favorite places to eat in that area.

I have the one below. It works for what I do but not overly impressed with it but it works for my needs. I would do it different next time on a system I would do custom.
