my idea of a great truckstop: plenty of park spaces maybe a small bathroom building for the parking spots way in the back also a little golf cart bus to pick up those drivers who parked way in the back lot (my dream truckstop is on a huge piece of property like the Iowa-80) inside the main building you have almost like a mini mall of barber shops and hair salons for ladies a real nice steakhouse restaurant a convenience store like all truck stops with soda, Cb's, and other things truckers need and use. and the showers would be bigger and well built so when you take a shower you don't have to worry about the shower splashes building and pooling into a little stream out side the shower area were you get dress at.

i guess dream is just a improvement on what we already have just done with a little more love.

also be great if the wifi signal would spread through out the whole lot and not just close to the main building. maybe put some wifi signal antenna's up on poles out in the parking lot. so everyone can get a strong signal no matter were there parked.

    pappalion Thanks this.

The perfect t/s would be TRUCKS ONLY!! No 4 wheelin "tourists" allowed. A nice resturant, large clean showers, and a security team that actually works. Bobtail speific parking, shore power hook ups. Name it as a "Truck stop", not a "travel center/stop/plaza". Ok, i am off my soap box.. lol.

I really like the idea of a wally world style shopping area at truck stops... a place where we could get all of our supplies without paying triple or more the price. And the food thing, Yea that has to change. There is nothing I hate more than coming up on a an oasis of truck stops, and they all have the same fast food joint in them. I see one with a Chesters on the right and look over to the left and there is another Chesters. Cant they at least mix it up a little? Even across the states its the same old rot gut, nothing healthy or worth eating. And of course, nothing is better than a half wet, soggy pastrami and swiss from those little pre-wrapped bins when you have just had to much fast food slop.

So, Yes... A cheap well stocked place for supplies, parts, etc.. and a variety good healthy eating establishments would make me a lot more happy.. I'll take that free cup of joe also.

I got a way to go yet before I'll be out on my own.

I PROMISE to NEVER Pee on a parking lot or empty my pee jug where it will harm anyone!
I've NEVER thrown trash out of my personal vehicles.

They sell a heck of a sammich at Wal-Mart that will make 4 small meals. Just need some mayo on 'em. Foot long Subway is good for two meals.

Ok, since were reaching here lol.

Perfect truck stop should have valet parking :biggrin_25525: and if they put a scratch on your truck, they give ya a brand new one to replace it. :biggrin_25525: While that truck is being parked by the valet they fill it with fuel, and run it through the wash. Vacuum the interior, make the bed, and leave a mint on the pillow. Next comes the log checker, they'd have a guy that double checks your logs, backs everything up for a few days, and provides a rock solid alibi. In the mean time, you're being treated to a geisha style bath, i'd say 3 chicks per driver should cover it with extra bubbles. Steak and lobster after, of course they give ya a bib. You're clean now, so we don't want to screw that up with lobster juice. No doubt all this will come with a bill. Ten bucks sound fair? Oh, and most important of all no over priced cheesy truck stop merchandise for sale.
