I think the first of January and the first of June if you aren't enrolled. You'd have to talk with your own personal HR lady to be certain. It's definitely 100% dollar for dollar up to 7%
yes it's the top pay for extra board. For the linehaul home daily guys like me the top out is .77! -
Yes! Linehaul is the comprised of 3 different things... Scheduled runs (home daily linehaul guys with a set route.), Extra board (regional otr terminal to terminal.) And teams (schedule team run, extra board team and flex team).
Teams is has it's own little seniority thing within itself but it's still linehaul. The only difference is teams literally take priority over everyone no matter what. If a team needs freight, they'll take it from anyone and give it to the team. It's happened to me. It's also harder to go from team to regular linehaul or extra board tho. It's a lot to explain but they all still fall under the same umbrella.
A team with 5 years seniority still trumps a guy with 4 years and 364 days of seniority. If the team splits, it adds 2 guys with linehaul experience back into the pool. Before their seniority kicks in tho, they'll have to run extra board for 90 days. Same with terminal transfers.
Your seniority follows you everywhere you go. When you go to a new terminal, you'll just have to run the board for 90 days and then your seniority kicks in.Speed_Drums, like clay… +++ and wulfman75 Thank this. -
Thank you for really being very detailed on your replies. You answered another ? that I hadn’t even asked yet.
Curious though, how long must you work at your terminal before able to transfer?
Probably not a good idea to hire on for team driver position just to get foot in the door?
Have not found this ? anywhere in the forums… steel toed boots required?
Thanks again for replying, you really fill in the blanks which is very helpful. -
Look man... Estes operates just like any other big company with it's own system. You can wear whatever you want to work from a tailored suit to full military gear. They do not care. I think you have to stay with the company a year until you can transfer.
Look man as long as you get in you get in. Eat 6 months to a year on the team truck then try to get off. Eventually you will but teams are very important so they won't just let you move right off like that. That'll piss them off.like clay… +++ Thanks this. -
If I could tolerate building/breaking sets/trains, I’d be at the big E.

Man up lol.
It's not even hard bro. I hook my dolly on the back of my lead trailer and hook it up that way. Saves time and it's better.HiramKingWilliams and Speedy356 Thank this. -
No, it's 50 percent or half of your contribution up to 7% max, vested over 6 years, starting year 2 @ 20%, add 20% each year after. So if you contribute 7% or more you get 3.5% match of your gross pay. New hires can get the match after 6 month anniversary hire date, not sure on the start date, Jan. 1st or July 1st sounds about right. After 90 days you can start your 401k without match.
Estes West now pays $10.75 for all hooks & drops. California linehaul different because of minimum wage pay while not driving.
Xtra board top pay is 80.5 for West and EastLast edited: Apr 24, 2023

1 year, before you can transfer (I wouldn't mention it on hire). It is a great idea to do team to get foot in front door. No requirement on safety footwear, although Estes does allocate $85 per year for safety footwear.like clay… +++ Thanks this.

Those Estes West dudes are super secretive about the pay. Do the Californians make way more than we do? They never wanna talk about it!
