What you're referring to is "at will". That means neither employers, nor employees, have to give reason for terminating the employment. Right to work has to do with employee protections, mainly from being forced to join unions, or collective bargaining agreements, etc... But, I *think* (not sure about this) it also has been evolved a bit for other protections.

That said, my post suggesting he should seek an attorney's opinion was not in regards to them lowering his wage. He posted a paystub that listed his pay as "Driving Hours", suggesting he is not compensated for his "on duty, non driving" time. That's what I was suggesting he get an expert legal opinion on. I'm sure it's a long shot, but might be worth checking out. What can a phone call cost?

p.s. I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment of our fearless leaders. I do NOT expect anything but a total CLUSTER &^%$ when the government gets involved, EVER! But, as you say, there is the occasional nugget that might help us out. That's why I suggested it might be worth a call to an attorney.

And, SWISH, right over his head it goes. So be it.

As far as hiring an attorney...will our people ever just get a grip and stop suing over anything that gets their dander up? Seriously. A .06/mile decrease is not worth a $200-$500 fee to have someone look over the document and compare to the existing law. Guaranteed that the company already did that (you know, to avoid legalities) before taking this action.

America has become so pussified, it's maddening.

Did you even READ what I posted? First, you have no clue what right to work means. I KINDLY tried to educate you on the matter and you want to sling insults?

Additionally, who said anything about suing? How do you jump to that conclusion at me making a simple suggestion to the OP to consult an attorney for the legality of how his CURRENT pay is determined, nothing to do with the proposed pay cut. That part is a done deal. He either accepts it, or moves along to another company.

I sold that blue heavy haul Prius to a guy at Keen and I went and bought a big house Prius and went back to regular freight and some over dimensional stuff. I can literally stretch all the way out when I lay down now in the back. I stay gone alot nowadays. th - 2023-04-29T192346.156.jpeg

Nice, I'm looking at a local 48 volt hot shot. I've got a young daughter that I can dispatch on it, I just need to show her how to chain and tarp. Being emission compliant is a big selling point with shippers and receivers alike.

That's a nice setup. Have you looked at rates what those 48v hotshot units are getting? I've been curious on those.

My cost is around $1 a mile break even driver included. My biggest expenses are plastic drive tires, Lucky Charms and Capri Sun's.

I get around $3 a mile all miles but the shipper and receiver must allow me to plug in and charge at the facility.

Time to find another job. A company decreasing pay is a bad sign. Get out before everything goes belly up.
