Well,Obieron says he had thirteen company replies. Did you pay the fee so
you could log on as a member? That is the only way I see the FirstChoiceCDL.com website allowing you to apply for one of the jobs.
There is a new posting on Craigslist/Denver with all the same jobs for all
the cities. I sent an email to this guy and no reply as of today as of this time. The jobs have been posted for a while, and with so many drivers out of work, they should be filled,as this guy purports to have connections to these companies for a long time as a 'private recruiter'. As I said,I don't want anyone else taken, and one of you drivers noted that 16.50 isn't a lot, except to the 'recruiter'. Thanks to all for your kind response, and yung trucker, look in the mirror and laugh at your own face before you make fun of someone else and their troubles.
Wing
Is this company legit?!

I am not sure if you got riped of or what transactions took place.
I do know that I got two jobs through First Choice CDl one back in 92 and my present job in 04. I know that hey made some changes in the past few year I get emails from them all the time telling me of jobs that are avalable.
I know the old man and he is fare from a scammer though. met is family been to a picnic with them,
I wish I could shed more light on it for you but as for me I think they are fine and I will work with them again
As for what Twilight has posted I have found, in my experiance, not true with these guys I also tend not to place my opion unless I know the facts
Thanks -
hey I wasn't making fun of ANYBODY. I was l;ookin too and so I put in an app at one of the free websites ad have gotten dozens of app requests. even with the glut of drivers out there. there is no reason to psend money with someone when you can do it yourself for free.I'm sorry you misunderstood I don't knock anybody! I was just trying to point out how easy it is. I'm going to a local co. shortly that is 5 miles from home and got the job from one of these free sites. didn't even know they were there? real small nice equipment staff seems good.

There is a scammer on the Inland Empire craigslist wanting $40 for a list of jobs you can get for free. When I'm looking for work, I dont/wont pay to work. They pay me.... One guy I went to meet with, and I had to laugh in his face. He wanted to pay me .19cpm SOLO! His excuse was "work is slow, take it or leave it" I can't stand employers or head hunters that want to rip off people who are just trying to support themselves and their family.

Since my last responce to the posting on firstchoicecdl.com I had talked to the old owner's son I found out that
The former owner had passed away in January and I perosonaly knew him, he was a hell of a great guy. Since then there is a new owner and yes he has made a lot of changes as I stated before I have had two great jobs through them sine the mid 90s and will continue to use them
When I talked to Thomas the new owner, he said that yes there are some drivers (42) that paid a 16.50 fee to get a clearence for a background and mvr and a dac clearencet so they could submit them to multiple companies that they work with at one time.
Even though all the drivers did not get chosen yet for these jobs they are still on the block and cleared for the jobs.
I asked him why they carged a fee at all
He said there was a fee for these few jobs, because he could not afford to clear all the drivers anymore out of his pocket and that not everyone was going to get hired for the jobs posted, but that hey would work on getting them a job with other comapnies, he also stated that he told all 42 drivers this up front.
I asked him about the 3000 aplications,
He stated "Well it was more then 3000" but about 90% of the applicamts did not even qualify for the possitions he was triing to fill and that ony about 250 did, out of that 250 only 42 got a background clearence (or paid for and he does not get that) out of them 12 lied on their application and were droped
I asked him what they do do?
They are a private recruter for seven companies and they were exclusive to them. The companies used them as a private contractor because they we smaller trucking companies and did not want to have a full time redruiter to handle the posting for and recruiting of drivers.
I asked him how much they got paid?
If a driver was hired then they got $200,00 after the driver work for six weeks, and the driver never paid, the hiring company does. They placed 10 drivers in Jan and 12 in Feb ( so i think that comes out to about $2200 a month or just about 500 a week ) (BIG BUCKS right?) not including expences
Now for the scamming
Has anyone talked to this guy, looked at what he is doing, or tring to do, did any one here even look into what the 16 dollars was for?
When I asked him what he thought about this post he stated
"Look, I would love to get every driver needing a job one right now. I can not control what anyone says or does. I can only control what I do and say. If I upset someone or if they feel I did something wrong, I can only try to make it right if they let me.I have total faith in what they have done for me over the years and will use them again but people should know what they are talking about before slamming or posting what they think is going on without facts.
If some one wants to express themself with out confromting me about a mistake I may or may not have made, I can not do anything about that
I am triing to make it easer for ALL drivers to get a job or better one. That is all I can do."
Does anyone know if the original poster is lagit? is he pissed about something else? Who knows?
I am just saying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Last edited: Mar 3, 2010

Well, not pissed at anyone. I did thoroughly check this out .Paypal made an attempt to return my funds of 16.50. I was not refunded, told FirstChoiceCDL by email of same, and was informed by FirstChoiceCDl that they don't cheat anyone, and would somehow get my refund, that was a month ago,and snailmail ain't that slow. I put that up to learning curve and wrote it down as write off experience. No need to beat a dead horse.
Just don't want anyone to get ripped off. I say,if you have picked up a job from them, good for you. Emails are legal documents and I'm not badmouthing this guy, just want to know if anyone has done "real" buisness with them, and thanks for your reply. 'nuf' said.
