i have been lucky to not have been faced with issues like commuting and terminal closures. in fact, we moved to a different terminal a few years ago and it's closer than before. for the first time in my life i have a <30 minute drive to work. 24 mile round trip. my dd averages 38 mpg. cost of getting to/from work is minimal. i bought this house in 08, my mortgage is not a lot. my house has doubled in value since then. i want more space but i need $1 mil to get what i want in this area. yes i'm the poor folk in the old home that is now surrounded by multimillion dollar homes and $750k entry subdivisions.
with regard to work, im still doing linehaul and can't buy a day off (without scheduling it). but i did manage to keep my workweek under 45 hrs last year.
i'm 110% happy where i am and thankful i have been able to avoid most of life's bs so far. -
I feel for the guys like GP and anybody else facing the likes of this Fedex BS.
Fortunately ours are too spread out to close any.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
