    First, thanks for the link to the faq's. Second, if I read it correctly (or maybe I overthought it), if a driver had a dot recordable crash that happened in 2004 or in the 90's or maybe even later than that, that info won't be in the file? Surely it doesn't go away, or does it? What is the record retention or lifespan of a dot reportable crash? 5 years? Anyway, back to the original thought. I know it say's "most recent 5 years", but if a driver had a dot reportable crash in the 90's and hasn't been behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle since, is that the driver's "most recent 5 year's" or what the driver record is the actual 5 most recent year's?

    According to what I have heard it is the past 5 year period. Another interesting thing is that if you have no inspections or reportable accidents you will have no record as the record is only generated by the amount of inspections and dot reportable accidents.
