Oh boy what a last few weeks. I have had four repairs after the turbo and have spent at least 5k. I also need to replace four trailer tires soon and have to do the oil pan this weekend. Its times like this that really make me rethink what I am doing. I am pretty convinced I am going to call it quits within the next 3 years and go local. There are several reasons for this that I don't want to go into in depth. Let's just say I can make at least what I pay myself working local and be home every night. I am going to give it one more solid try before I make that decision. If I don't see some serious improvements I am done. After 8.5 years OTR I am wore out with it. I wanted to run something by you guys. Would it interest you to see what my credit card debt vs. my cash in my accounts looks like? I figure this will give ya a good look into how long it takes me to get out of this hole.

Not really interested in seeing your books as everyone is different and come from a different financial place.
I would say this, I drove OTR for nearly 10 years and wanted to go local. I got the job and hated every minute of my life after that. You might want to consider a 5 and 2.

I've been thinking about seeing if I can do that with my current situation. Just have to wait until I can get back into a comfortable enough financial situation to try it.

I had a Peterbilt 579 and started sinking money into about every time I was out on the road. I eventually traded it in on a 2019 Mack Anthem and now the rates are dropping and the fuel is going up. I have had a few minor issues with the Mack but I am struggling right now. I keep telling myself things will change but I have considered bankruptcy but I would have to turn my truck back in to the bank and get a new job.
I just don't play well in the sandbox with other people.dwells40 Thanks this. -
Bankruptcy is definitely not in my future. Especially over a few thousand dollars. I just need to get lucky and have a couple good months without any major breakdowns and I'll be fine.
Knucklehead Thanks this. -

I don't want to do bankruptcy but my anxiety makes me feel like it's the only way out but I keep chugging along. Hopefully it will turn around.
