Mine’s been trouble free for 258,000 miles and counting. It’ll be paid for in 3.5 years. But I’ll just trade it in on another one.

Lol what?? There's tons of w9s and Pete 379s with 2+ million miles and original hoods. Mine has 1.4 and all I've changed are the springs and fixed a mount the hood rests on.

Anything pre-emission that is in good shape. Save the trouble with not having to deal with all the new emission BS.

Its called removing the interior and spray foaming the whole dam thing, I have a buddy that did his, and I am doing mine this summer, takes a weekend but should be well worth it. I have already put new noise insulation everywhere and that helped big time, but after listening to his I am scraping off all the noise insulation and spray foaming the whole thing

Freightliner with a Series 60 and some sort of Fuller transmission is the bargain that gets the job done and they are relatively easy to find used for reasonable asking prices. Not so for hood trucks with caterpillars.

I’m confused. What’s a Hood Truck? Used to be anything that wasn’t a cabover. Now I guess it’s any non aero Truck. There’s not much difference between a Century, Cascadia and the old FLDs. Just a bit tighter. Still has a “hood”. Same basic set up.
