    GETTING READY TO START WITH THIS COMPANY THAT WILL BE PAYING ME .38 CENTS A MILE HOME EVERYDAY HAULING VANS ABOUT 2 LOADS ADAY THEN IN 5 MONTHS SWITCHING TO .40 CENTS A MILE IS THAT PRETTY GOOD STARTING OUT WITH A COMPANY ON THE .38 CENTS A MILE PART???? THANKS EVERYONE WHO ANSWERS.:biggrin_2556:

    That's good in my opinion. I started out with .26 cents and mile and after a year I made .27 and a half cents. And your home every day. Can I work with you? I'll be good.:biggrin_2559: just playing.

    It depends on the length of the trips, how much money will you make per day. Most of the shag drivers I knew were paid by the hour or by the trip, i.e. so much to load up nearby and bring it back to the yard for the OTR guys to take.

    You will figure out the hourly if you start doing it.

    i will be doing dry bulk runs and vans dry bulk i will be getting around 25 to 30 percent of the load and vans .38 cents a mile i do know each van trip is over 200 plus so jus woundering if .38 cents a mile is o.k starting off !

    I think the bulk will be better, but the company needs those short(shag) runs covered as well. 200 miles would require logging unless that is round trip or there is a state law in place allowing it without.

    yeah i hear you on that my job now all i do is dry bulk been doin it for a year now and love it but i really wanna do vans to so this company is having me do both witch really caught my attention i think there going to have me do one van load round trip about 200 miles then 1 dry bulk run and thats 25 to 30 percent of that load so who knows sounds kinda good but all there trucks are auto shift never drove auto shift trucks before have you??? my truck is a 10 speed.....

    I run a 10 speed auto-shift now approximately 11 hours driving on mostly 2 lane and off pavement situations. I don't like it because of the off pavement, primarily, and I'm not happy with having to reset the clutch to get it to move.

    If these trucks have 3 pedals, they would be more suitable for the heavy pull situations I encounter.

    they told me sumthing that there still is a clutch and you gotta use it when starting and stopping something like that so does that mean its good if a auto shift has all 3?:biggrin_25524:
