Reefer has the avialabilty to load both types of freight. So consider that as well. Third, Roehl is not only Van|Reefer, they also have flatbed as well. That could mean having to sit or swap trailers at a drop yard and being able to run and make money.
-
as for being the idiot i believe you take 1st place in that catagory for 2 reasons, 1; you can't even spell the type of trailer your pulling right its a "reefer" that you are REFERing to and im not the 1 that is trying to persuade everybody how good it is to drive for your lousy company, and if you dont reply to this would probably make everybody's day a whole lot better.2 if marten is sooooo dang good, why do they replace at least 100 drivers a month?????
-
Well I am sorry to here about your layoff but I have to tell you a lot of things have changed at Roehl since you last left. I would suggest finding another company if you can. You have been warned.... Best of luck to you. -
When did they replace you and, if you don't mind, would you share with us wannabes which carrier you are working for now? It seems to me, from all the reading I do here on the forum and in trucking industry news articles, that carriers are "unloading" the worst of their drivers in order to enhance their (the carrier's) future BASIC scores.

What is roehl's policy on recent experience and accidents? For instance 1 year experience in the past 3 years? Do they go back 5 years on accidents?
-
Crete sure takes their time on processing an application. You would think 5 days would be enough time

1st question is how long have you been in the trucking industry? Ive been doing it since 1988 and was proud of my career choice until I got on with "the big"company, and as far as the worst drivers as you refer it to, I conquer with getting rid of bad drivers, but experienced veterans being pushed out so these BiG companies can save a dime and hire a rookie that has no experience to drive their $200,000 equipment around is beyond me, but thats why im not in the "office".
p.s. Im in partnership with a broker and dont have to put up with the BIG companies B.S. -
They took a month with me, they really check your 10 year background history, where as others will just say "oh well" on a few gaps. I kept calling every 3 or 4 days and almost gave up. Ive heard they have changed alot since that Florida accident they had years back. Very strict on who they hire and they make you run legal.OneLastTime Thanks this.

You notice how he didn't answer your question. You will find that just because a driver has been out on the road 15-20-25 years does not mean they have 15-20-25 yrs of experience. It just means they have 1 yrs exp that many times. He sucked as a company driver because he can't follow the rules and this is exactly the kind of driver we need to be getting ride of.
