I’ll stop by once in a blue moon(not the beer)to pick up a 12pk on the way home. No shame. It’s my truck.
Is it legal to carry a bottle of alcohol on the truck in a toolbox?

There isn't an excuse for a workaround.
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE ALCOHOL IN ANY CONSUMABLE FORM ON THE TRUCK - PERIOD.
To clarify this a little more is this fact, on the truck, in the truck, or what ever you want to count it as - the fact you are in control of the vehicle qualifies you to be covered under the regs and laws.
It doesn't matter what your intentions are, it doesn't matter what you think the rules are or how they apply, ALL STATES FOLLOW THE FMCSA/US DOT REGULATIONS AND SOME GO BEYOND THE REGS TO MAKE THEM EVER MORE STRICT.wis bang Thanks this. -
jcatel and Diesel Dave Thank this.

Your company almost certainly prohibits it in addition to the federal regs.
Someone will probably tell you a story and it may make sense. Only the regulations and company policy should be the answer. -
Search FMCSA CMV AlcoholShort Fuse EOD, Mnmover99, Gridaxe5588 and 2 others Thank this.
