Not to be a jerk but why dont you guys out here get some balls and stand up for yourself this is the way trucking is because you let it be this way unless your running cost to cost you should beable to get home most weekends if you want to the problem is companys dont care because there not the ones sittting in a truck stop all weekend there home in there nice house i run 3 trucks from Me to Fl not on dedicated runs flatbed and were home every weekend and some during the week it called planning something dispatchers dont know how to do or don't care to do it just shows from her post send a guy to unload when it can't even be delivered yes he should have called but the dispatcher should have known allso now van loads are a diffrent story because alot of shippers and recievers are open weekends but most for flats are closed why should a driver sacrafice his family just to have a job i'll never understand that as family comes first to me over anything else and i've never had a shipper or reciever give me a hard time over it.

RBHT I COULD NOT AGREE MORE. My bud drove for tmc for over a year. He was home every weekend due to the fact they promise that and he stood up for himself. As you stated flat receivers and shippers are closed on weekends. He also got a good dm after his first showed his I dont give a D!!! additude. That is not starting problems, it is called doing what is right. Your guy needs to remember, unless he opens his mouth it will never change. Just my two cents.

Agree that he should stand up for himself. Being a newbie does put him at a disadvantage though.

With a little more time in the saddle he should be able to find a better fit in trucking to accomodate a more acceptable homelife. There are local driving jobs that allow a person to have a more normal life.

Don't blow up the ship yet, be patient & you could start doing some research on the local or regional jobs available in your area for him.

If he has only been home 1 weekend since October then HELL NO that ain't "just the life".

4 weeks at a time is about all any decent company will ask of a driver...and TMC is a "decent" company.

It sounds as if he is caught in the middle of a CSR (customer service rep...or whatever TMC calls them) screwup...and those do get nasty at times.

There is a ladies room here, and some of the members are trucking spouses.
