    Just curious about something. When I was trying to find work a couple of months back I noticed a lot of companies offering both options. Wouldn’t you want to be committed to one or the other? Seems odd.

    Everybody’s circumstances are different. One driver may have a spouse that has a full time job, that offers family coverage for health insurance, if you are diligent enough to self fund a retirement plan if the employer doesn’t offer a 401(k), etc.
    Another driver may need every program an employer offers.

    And a 1099 job should offer 28-30% higher pay for you to cover taxes, etc.
