I have a hard time considering 20% market share an "800-pound gorilla."

It's funny how some industries are scrutinized for a 20% market share ...

While "Too big to fail" banks, telecoms, and others get a free ride.

What's Ma Bell - err ... ATT up to now, 50%?

I'd like to see more competition in the Internal Revenue Service!
I mean, right now there's only ONE place to pay my taxes too.

    Perhaps an anti-trust lawsuit,,,,:biggrin_25526:

From what I've seen most of the J's have driven themselves into the ground.

They seriously went downhill after the owner died. He used to literally drop in out of the sky in a black helicopter and check in on all his truckstops. They used yo have the cleanest restrooms and showers on the road. Not so much anymore. The other day I had to chase down a worker because not one of the stalls in either bathroom had a roll of toilet paper in them.

Transportation Alliance Bank, spin off of flying J isn't the safest bank to have money in right now. FDIC insurance will only cover the first $250,000 in deposits and it takes forever to get any money out when the Govenment shuts one down. I had $2,200 dollars in a failed bank in GA and it took me six months to get my money after it failed. Not saying it is going to fail but the Street.com rates every bank in America and on an A, B,C,and E ranking system TAB bank rates a C- and it before this 28 million dollar loss in the Arrow thing. In the pay portion it's grade now can be seen, I don't imagine it has improved from the C- with Flying J in Bankruptcy, parent of TBA and one of the largest debtors and the Arrow thing.

I am not trying to start a panic or a rush on TBA, just saying you got to ask yourself these questions with all banks right now. More have failed in this recession than in the depression even with the TARP programs. I couldn't afford the six month wait on my money but had no choice.

Too late, Flying J is already there, and has been for years.
