Not gonna lie, and this may seem crude, but if I was one of the people that you hit and I saw this thread, I’d be getting paid.
Is this the end of my career?

I've been reading all your posts, and you haven't explicitly said anything, but I can only assume that you didn't tell anybody in either law enforcement or at your company that you actually "blacked out". If you had, your medical card would certainly be pulled. If you still have a valid medical card, it's only because you were not honest about the cause of your accident, and as such, you are a BIG risk behind the wheel!
Now, you say that a non-DOT doctor said you were "O.K. to drive". Was he talking about driving a car? Or, did he specifically say you were "OK to drive a large truck as your full-time job"? Big difference between the 2 there...
Also, as I stated before, having an accident where you were just careless will make you next to unemployable; your accident may not have made it onto your DOT report yet. Being de-certified for a medical reason will keep you from driving at least for the short-term, but if you can prove that you are now recovered and capable of driving, you should be able to find work.
I urge you to please get some medical help BEFORE you end up killing somebody.tscottme Thanks this. -

If you had tightness in your chest and blacked out, you need to find the cause. You could have CAD or something else that caused this. I dont care what some other DR said. Until you get cleared by a medical professional who is qualified to DOT exams, You are NOT fit to drive. You need to gather all the medical records and be HONEST with the DOT medical examiner. You may be disqualified until you get the condition under control. Dont hold your breath on no lawsuits, I would bet a months pay that some lawyer is on the case. Big truck = big money.

But I have good news for you! You can bet your bottom dollar that you have lawsuits coming. And the end of your driving career is imminent. Doesn’t that just make you feel good that the ambulance chasers are actually going to do a good deed?Twistin' throttles, Crude Truckin' and Old_n_gray Thank this. -

I think the last person I heard about that was locking up people just for being different than him was a little Austrian guy with a funny mustache and a real bad attitude.Unclehams, bryan21384, Crude Truckin' and 2 others Thank this. -
OK, guys, "Fat Shaming" the guy is NOT going to help. He's in a bind, it seems he hasn't been honest about the cause of his accident to his company or to the authorities, and if he just tries to ignore it eventually his short-sightedness will likely come back to bite him hard. Like most drivers, he probably has no back-up plan, and he's looking for an easy way out that really does not exist. Having been in the business, I'd bet at least half of you would do the same thing if put in this situation. Those who lurk in the 'politics' section should just crawl back under THAT log and stop trolling this guy.
Still, the situation is he's unfit to drive, but sees no other way to make a living. This industry preys on guys like him, then gets them into binds like this and spits them out without even a 'thank you' on the way out. Sadly, there is probably no other alternative to being put onto long-term disability, during which he probably has no more than a 50% chance of regaining his CDL. Still, the alternative is a repeat performance of his previous accident, which next time could be at full-speed, which then could result in a big lawsuit and the deaths of either other motorists or even himself. Not a great choice, either way.
Between the 2, I'd choose the medical disability route, and while getting my body in shape I'd train for SOMETHING that would get me off a truck. His years of driving so far haven't really been a good fit after all, and continuing in this business for him will likely just lead to an early death. Sorry, I'm not trying to be mean, only realistic.northstarfire0693 and Accidental Trucker Thank this.
