Averitt Express does. You need a little time in with the company before you are eligible.

    yes, teamsters work.

i was in Boston/Chinatown making my delivery/pick-up when the Sandra Bullock/Melissa Mc Carthy movie "Heat" was filmed in the old Boston Herald building across the street, and the movie trucks were blocking my docks.

the drivers were standing outside, all were teamsters, and really cool, and moved out of my way.

my state has quite a few movies or tv shows filming (RI) currently Good Burger 2, and all truckers are teamsters.

good luck getting a job, it goes by seniority i was told at the Boston location, and i just wanted to know how they got the gig.....

the movie/tv company goes to the Teamster's Hall to hire......

this is mostly due to nearly ALL the people working on a tv/movie are unionized workers....

good luck getting INTO the teamsters, and working your way up to seniority status....

Averitt calls this division OnTour Logistics or OTL. It's a salary/weekly pay with home-time only when your show is off. You could work six months or more without designated home-time. You may not drive every day, just sit in a hotel, or you may drive every night, whatever the show requires.
You may drive from one venue, back-in, pull your straps as you are unloaded, and then go to the hotel and wait until the show is over, install your straps, close your doors and drive to the next venue. As I understand it there are crews that load and unload the freight in the trailer, but you may have to strap those rolling crates in the trailer. You go to each venue for the band's tour, wherever that tour goes in the US and Canada, passport required. That is like a concert day.

Other work in OTL is called "Production". That is driving work for something like a music video or commercial at one location. You take the trailer to the location and then wait until the production people are finished with their job and then you take that equipment back to where it will be used next or where it came from.

I would think if you scan the entertainment industry job sites you will find more connections than in the trucking forums. BTW, there is a writer's strike going on, so that may mean things are slow right now.

They do bands, all types, AND entertainment industry transport in the OnTour Logistics division OTL. I believe OTL has Tour and Production. Tour is where you move the gear for a particular band you are assigned to wherever that band plays (US & Canada). Production is move equipment used for videos, commercials, etc to the location where it is needed.

Good information, I thought about it before with them but that home time won't work out for us..sounds like a pretty good deal though.

Upstage I'm pretty sure they based in Illinois, do mostly concert stuff I believe though. During covid they pivoted a little to some general freight but I believe they back to concerts. I wouldn't mind checking out a short tour gig, be pretty cool

I tried productionhub and Mandy with no luck. The only other major site I've found is backstage, and they require paying a monthly subscription to use. I mean I will do that if necessary, just trying to avoid that at first if I can...
