Another day and another trip to the hospital for the mother in law. I went to bed around 0330-0400. Woke up around 0700 to the dog barking as she was locked in my sons room. Took a wizz and looked into living room. Ambulance outside. Chair in our kitchen. Ugh. Girlfriend was downstairs with paramedics so I went back to bed.

Now. Some may think I am a complete A Hole for going back to sleep. Well, probably for a million reasons. But here is why I don’t get excited.

Back in 2013 I was in NC where my girl lived at the time. I was watching her daughter while she was in Cali at a conference. Her mother was there as well. I was woke up at 3 am by her mother yelling that she couldn’t breathe. I called 911.

MIL is from Philly. She is an ex nurse. This combo makes her a biotch and a know it all. She also forgets what it’s like to be a patient and panics and fights with paramedics. I had to apologize to them as they couldn’t get her to lay down long enough to get her out of house. She couldn’t walk on her own so there wasn’t any options.

Fast forward to 2023. She still has congestive heart failure. She still eats what she shouldn’t. She still won’t listen to anyone. This is the third time this year she has been hospitalized. Had at least two paramedics and also a group of fire fighters take her out the basement door (her room is downstairs) and up the embankment to the ambulance. She pulled the same crap as she did in NC. The paramedics luckily didn’t fall for the crap.

She has 13 grandchildren. Lives with two of them in my house My 3 year old son has been with her since he was born. Yet none of this is enough for her to follow doctors orders.

It’s like dealing with a drug addict. If she doesn’t want to change, she won’t. And we can’t make her. I got a business to run and kids to raise. We are not a personal care home, doctor, baby sitter or health counselor. My girl is over it as well.

So, I will continue to sleep. And I sleep well with my decisions.

 

I got 11 loads. Wanted 12. I haven’t added up the weights yet. I have a feeling I was just shy of 500K. Disappointing LOL

 

I spent most of February and March up in your area and was gonna reach out to you and meet for lunch or something. I did the same with another member but we couldn’t make it happen.

 

I gotta jack up the drivers side and do some investigating. Somethings amiss. Guaranteed it will be something that requires me waiting for a shop to get me in. Just as we got super busy finally.
