Yea, I've heard about that trick but i just haven't gotten around to picking any up. I am learning new stuff all the time. Doing this otr is much different than when I did it locally 20 years ago.

I need to take some pics sometime. I don't know how to blur out the name on the side of the truck like I've seen others do.

An by the way folks, I know this thread is mainly about end dump trucking. So Being a hopper hauler, I am not trying to hi jack the thread. Just sharing some experiences as asked for one time by another poster on here. As some know I used to pull a 40 foot frameless. An there sure isn't anything cooler than one standing up successfully empty. After doing this hopper thing for awhile now, I'm honestly not sure if I could physically do the labor stuff involved with doing end dump again. All the climbing up an down an constantly getting in an out of the truck now, an shaking loads back an forth has my right ankle screaming at me. I am certainly gonna let my pride dictate that I stick it out for awhile yet though, cuz I really don't wanna pull a reefer again unless it's a very last option.

Keep posting @Professor No-Name i enjoy the read. I don’t post a whole lot because there’s not much new going on, I’m praying once I get my truck back I’ll be back on some interesting stuff

Absolutely @Professor No-Name keep posting your hopper adventures. I like hearing about em. Like @Trashtrucker1707 i too am kinda caught in a lull just feeding concrete plants and trying to keep up. One highlight is my running mate at my old end dump company finally made the switch and came over, so the Gruesome Twosome is back! This is his assigned truck, and it’s as loud as it looks.

Well I sure hope the end dump rates are staying up there for ya. The hopper rates have went straight into the toilet for back haul stuff. I had a high dollar load that went out west an I been chasing my tail ever since trying to get back home an hittin a wall every day.

Here's a pic after I got wheat mids on today an the operator didn't understand the difference between up to the bows vs over the bows. Ended up with 47,300 lbs in the trailer. 20230621_134151.jpg

Delivered chicken meal to a place here in Illinois this morning. By far it had to be the most user friendly and nicest place I have ever that I ever recall being to. They pulled me in a building and had me crank them open then they got up on a overhead and blew it out with an air hose. Then I got to pull around and and get washed out too. The washout cost money obviously. But all in all they were all real polite with very modern nice and new facilities. They woke me up and told me hey if you want to unload we can unload you and if you'd rather sleep for a while just pull over there and park a little bit more out of the way and come see us when you get up.
