So, here’s where Dune is lacking in the knowledge department, I’ve a 45 day old MC number, “industry standard” insurance, a paid for truck and trailer,… brokers are the problem for the O/O. When we can’t get them to touch us new entries with a ten foot pole covered with herpes , is when and why we have such a hard time getting ahead. The MEGA carriers have tried to completely get rid of the little guy.

I lease my truck and trailer onto a small company that's been in business many years, they won't do business with any broker that has less than 2 years in business, so... The problem is what????

The little guy has to #### near drown before these brokers will touch them. All the references in the world and they don’t trust people because of a couple bad actors.

1: They have driven up the insurance quotas for everyone.
2: They drive down the freight rates.

They did driven up the insurance quotas almost two years ago!

Now for the prices we are getting... I remember times when brokers called me on phone (3,4y ago) , after company send me rate confirmation, to check did i get the same rate! I swear.
Now what is happening, when we negotiate with companies they will tell you we are charging only 12% of loads, plus insurance 250$ weekly, plus eld log books 30$.... and you think that's it! But it is not, in the contract that you sign it is said that COMPANY keeps rights to sell you load for a different amount than they get from brokers.
Which means they will ALWAYS TAKE more money for themselves. So companies are actually ones who lower the rates.
    How we prevent this?
Read a contract and change what is not good for you, find company who will gave you exactly how much they get from broker, and enjoy in you life.

You didn't know, didn't ya? :) we need to bring back trucking to truckers. This is our lifestyle, they don't get it , they(companies) only want money, and that's normal ,it's business. But for me is more. WE, o/o need to protect us from them, and this is the only way.

I'll open a new topic for discussion, I have some good ideas and advices for all owner operators. We can turn game in our favor again.

I didn’t know ( and still don’t ) what you are trying to say. I also still don’t know what an insurance quota is.
