I don’t think you’ve worked at any of those places.LTL jobs and UPS are all seniority based jobs the news guys get the grunt work you’re going to spend a lot of time working the dock when you are driving you will get the oldest truck to drive with no set times.Petroleum you’re are going to work night shift with most likely weekends to starting out.You are really out of touch in these jobs you mentioned or you haven’t driven very long if you’re under the impression you start at any of these jobs in a new truck and set start times that comes with seniority.. I bet a coffee he was making around $30 a hour working Walgreens but couldn’t take the physical part of the job.what does he want the whole farm if you’re working for somebody else’s company there not going to give (you) the whole farm.

I have worked LTL.Yes, seniority based But I did have a set start time, even low on the pole.Old tractor? Everyone there drove an old tractor, I actually had one of the better ones. I don't think he was asking for the "whole farm". Just better than CPC provided. And he never said what the rate was.
You think fingerprinting 1000 cases is "normal"? "Just a part of a be home every day local job? Again I say "WRONG!"

You just arguing to be arguing.Your own reasoning makes no sense. If you think for a second the poster didn’t understand it was a tailgate job from the start.Like I said he was making 30 an hour times 50 $1800 home every day. There are road jobs where yea you don’t unload but gone all week and not making that..now some think physical labor is to much for them I understand that..But the up side to these jobs is you make good money from the start unlike the LTL jobs your references here where you only work if they have extra freight in the beginning. You will be looking for a job for a long time if your requirements are set start, new truck,no major cities and no unloading good luck none of the jobs you referenced here will do that for the new guy remember he only worked for a month

And you keep mentioning $30.00 an hour. You know that how?

All I'm saying is that there are local jobs, home every day jobs, that don't mean starting out lower pay, or the worst piece of equipment, for the new guy. Some do, some don't. Had many that way. Had one with a supplier to the RV industry. Started at the same pay as the other drivers who had been there.Same Penske equipment. Same routes. Same start times. Forklift driver loaded racks of doors on a flatbed, driver tied them down. Unstrapped at the customer, receiver unloaded. Loaded empty racks, tied them down, back to the shop. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I'm sure OP was told it's a tailgate job, like you said, a lot of physical labor. But it would appear he hated other parts of the job, maybe he was told about varied start times, maybe not. He probably won't be back, so we won't know.

    Have a wonderful day.......
