114f in Central Oregon last Summer. I drove my jeep home from work at 45 mph. Our #### isn't made for those temps.

About 10am at work Friday, I'm entering work orders into my laptop, when this small bug flys rapidly back and forth in front of my face, then lands on the back of my right hand.

Thought it was a small fly, sent it airborne with a flick of my wrist, and kept working.

Then, the ######## lands on the back of my LEFT hand.

I figure, "okay, that's just straight up obnoxious", and inflict a killing blow upon it, leaving a small blood splatter on the back of my hand. As in, some of MY blood!

So I look closer. And think, "WTF kind of mosquito is this?"

    This ####er:

    The Asian Tiger Mosquito.

Been in the USA since 1985. According to Wikipedia, probably got here in a load of "imported used tires". (We're importing "used tires"?)

They are "very aggressive, biting at all hours of the day, not just at dusk", and "a vector of many common mosquito-borne diseases".

A couple news outlets are trying to crank up the crisis mill.

In other news, two confirmed cases of malaria NOT CONNECTED TO INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL in Florida.....
