I've been making more money than as a company driver, plain and simple. I don't care if I'm not a "real O/O"... I'm quite happy making what money I can and being able to walk away when I've had enough. This isn't by any means a career. I don't know how many IC (L/O, O/O, whatever) drivers Roehl has and I honestly don't care. It works for me, it's my money, my life, and honestly don't give a rat's backside who thinks its a scam or a rip-off. If you don't like it, don't do it. I've stated several times before that you're better off getting your own truck if this is something you want to do long term.... I don't and don't want a truck in name that I'm stuck with. This isn't an attack on you, Spin... Just ranting in general.
Flatbed IC Percentage Pay at Roehl

Excuse me but you seemed to sling out your garbage without reading up on the facts. I do indeed own my own truck. I was a company driver with Roehl for nearly 2 years and decided to buy my own truck and sign back on with lease. After paying all I nearly tripled what I was pulling in as a company driver. I have no reason to come on here and glamorize something. Hey Spin, I don't know why you have taken a negative turn but thats your deal. Good luck to all future drivers, this place is beginning to feel like a company terminal with a bunch of drivers sitting around whining. Your only as good as the company you keep so that is why I tend to avoid contact with most drivers. Good luck guys.

Do you still have all the benefits that you did when you was a company driver?
What is a career to you?
Now if your for real and did buy your own truck, not thru roehl, and your pulling their trailer for 70%, your not doing bad. What happens when you turn down all 3 loads? -
It seems that les2 can criticize everyone for anything, I dont see where he advises what company pays the 75% or anything else constructive. He must be one of the supertruckers I have heard about. Making big money in this poor economy and quick to tell everyone what they should be doing (just not how where or why). Wow I am certainly impressed. Venture and etch have been on this thread from the time they were company drivers and have provided honest posts about there experiences. I have seen etch's truck and can confirm it is not a Roehl truck. I have not seen les2's truck, does that mean it does not exist? The world has enough egomaniacs, and critics, I hope those people will not discourage those with something useful to say from continuing to post.

If your to lazy to look around to find a company that pays 75% or better its your fault not mine and I'm not going to do the job for you.
Take the critizism for what you will, but as you'll see from the many threads and post about L/P, you'll notice not many get out with a truck.
You know, this is the problem with you new guys, you all want it to be easy. If it was easy everyone would be doing it... Oh wait, they are. But not everyone's successful.
Here since you want it sugar coated...... Be all you can be! Lease purchase a truck today from your company and be a big time O/O. Make alot of money, be home and off on weekends. Work when you want for that matter. IN 5 years you'll have that brand new used truck paid for and in your name...
... Just sign here where is says "sucker".... er I mean "your name"...
Last but not least..... I don't give a #### what you or anyone else on this forum or any other forum thinks about me. I'm not here trying to impress anyone with my knowledge. I don't need to.

Please refer to my last post.

70% is normal if you are using their trailer.Landstar paid 75 of 98% your trailer, smx paid me 77% because of my experience,my trailer.Everyone else has paid 75% with your own trailer. The only thing I question is why you don't have access to all loads in your area like everyone else thats leased to a co.
Oldguynewjob Thanks this.
