Most employers’ adverts are lies. You can’t believe them. The exception is where you’ve already applied.

I worked for DTI, out of their HQ distribution center. They’re the best employer I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, I fell ill and left the industry for a few years. I’d go back, but, they added AI cameras to the trucks, which is a no bueno for me. But, with you starting out, you’re not going to be able to be so picky. DOT has a lot of really long tenure drivers, which says something. Wait and see if they reach out to you. If so, go with the flow and onboard with them. They’re a good company of good people. They’ll help you grow, throughout your career, if you can get on with them.

Why only as a last resort? Sure, they're a mega, their pay is abominable, and they love to nanny, but their training is solid. One can definitely do worse.

    Honestly--that's a good question.

Answer: you pretty much nailed it pretty well yourself--in the above post. Also: there are simply better, and better-paying options (if they will in fact hire the original poster). Yes, you're right--one could do worse--much worse. But why start off with spam--when you could go elsewhere and get Waygu beef (so to speak)? :p :D
