I just went to a local truck stop for a donut. Estes truck parked to my left. He shuts the truck off and yells for me. He wanted to sell me a watch for some money to buy food. Said he just started with the company and they hold first two weeks pay. Normally this would be a no for me. He was in his 60’s.

I told him I don’t wear watches. Chatted him up a bit. Gave him the $7 I had in my pocket. Heck I used to put $30-40 in the jukebox back in my heavy drinking days.

One thing is bothering me about this. He was smoking a cigarette. Did he bum it from another driver or does he value the smokes more than food? Don’t care if he’s addicted to them or not. If you are that broke you have other priorities other than your vices.

I really wish I didn’t think this way. Might be a little more pleasant of a person.

Fortunately for us the intermittent cloud bursts that got everything wet and slick, and made things more treacherous only occurred whilst we were working.

Now that we're done, they've stopped.

This is just one of the many ways that I know that God loves me.

This truck was carrying 44K gallons of hot sauce.

Now that's how we like to see things loaded.

Now why didn’t someone stick a container with some coffee filters or cheese cloth over it and capture some of that free product? Just wasteful.

It was actually 4,400 gallons, and it was a Hazmat spill.
