Yeah, and they also said they were taking the tired drivers off the road every time they changed the HOS regs and especially when they introduced ELDs.

 

"LOSER" is the definitive TITLE for that growing type of "drivers" (in MY opinion).

Going back to MY beginning (late '90's) , I recall we had Qualcomm (there were other companies involved in receiving/sending info but QC was then the best known).
Other than the QC ringing, it was most ill advised during ORIENTATIONS >>not to TYPE while driving<< regardless of how "important" dispatch thought the message to be.
STOP the vehicle BEFORE responding.
(I tried the sending while driving but it almost ended my future.)
Some systems would not allow responding without Tractor Parking Brake set.
It became deadly when a work-a-round was developed to avoid stopping to respond, but NOTHING like the DISTRACTIONS now-a-days.
