No problem. I have that video saved. It’s a great learning tool on why it’s not a good idea to allow a GPS to make decisions for the driver.

@JohnBoy not sure if you’re still doing it, but how do you find it in yourself to train, especially for weeks at a time across this country? I’ve tried it about 5 times now and it never goes well, I question if I’m a jerk, then I come to the realization that I’m just very set in my ways and I’ve come across few people that share the same values when it comes to work. God bless you if you’re still training, and I completely understand your decisions to quit if you’re not. Safe travels home.

I stopped 3 years ago. I did take out a woman back in April just so she could knock the rust off her backing. She was a friend who teamed with her ex here for 5 years. Outside of her, if it meant training or loosing my job, I’d gladly loose the job. The gene pool of wanna be truck drivers is about as low as that submersible sitting next to the Titanic. I’m done with the industry, I have nothing left to give back.

These drivers need to learn that a GPS is simply a tool just like a road atlas, and Google satellite, etc.… They still need to pay attention to what is in front of them and unfortunately technology nowadays is making too many people not use their brain

I looked at the road that driver (the one that got hit by the train) would've had to take to find themselves in the position they were in, and I'm pretty sure they weren't using a trucker-specific GPS. Had to have been just using Google Maps if they were using a GPS at all. My Garmin Dezl wouldn't route me down that road unless I gave it some very specific instructions. And even then it complained about it.
