They had to do that at a historic covered bridge near me

    it’s still in use ,
And despite all the signs and lights and hanging down pipes that hit the trucks .
They finally installed a beam over the road that breaks over and traps the truck so they can’t move .

has a hinge and some small bolts holding it , when a box truck or cement truck hits the beam , it falls in front of the windshield ,

Yeah, I remember my first year driving I was trying to get to a customer near Newport, TN, coming from the north off 81. GPS had me getting off on tn160 I think, got off I'm like this is ok, then I got into the woods and hills. Was like wtf is this thing doing sending me this way? Then it had me turning onto a gravel road that I couldn't Even see. Ignored it and continued into Newport.Thank God I was bobtail, I don't think I would've made it with a trail.

Bean Jr. and dave01282000 Thank this.

It's a gorgeous ride up over that road, especially when fall foliage is blazing.

I hear you, but it certainly makes truck drivers in general look like idiots by all of the local folks who have to deal with it every time it happens... despite being very clearly marked with signs.

    JoeyJunk Thanks this.

oh i know, but i have had my fill of these GPS following, ignorant sign reading morons.

as a result, they are "entertaining" to me.

until the laws slap them silly with extremely heavy fines, maybe even clean up or re- landscaping charges, and these morons get thier CDL suspended or revoked, the people will continue to be irritated to no end.

and of course the trucking industry in general suffers from it.

    so, "it's entertaining"

VT is screwed…. Flooding and roads washed out all over the place.

training thunder storms on a front that ain’t moving is the issue
