Common sliding tandems on a 53' trailer nearly always start with the 39'6" hole (for off-highway use in Idaho). The SECOND hole from the front is usually the 40' (California hole), and usually leaves the factory with yellow paint around that hole.

Its best to put your tape measure on that metal part at the back and measure fwd the 10 feet. The center of the rear axle goes there.

I looked all through my atlas. Never saw the tape measure page. Am I supposed to use the atlas itself to measure? Are they 2’ tall?
