Like I said, drivers are not allowed to work on the trucks at my job. If it's to be repaired, I'll need to convince the higher-ups that it's worth putting in a work order to fix it. This most likely means proving that it's against DOT regulations and will likely result in a legal penalty.

Will replacing an engineered to be the weak point work if the tank ends up at 101.5% capacity, no.

If your fuel is coming out of a underground tank it’s like 40 to 50 degrees so it expands if overfilled is all..

If a third party is fueling your trucks, they are likely trying to get as much fuel in the tank as they can. Have them leave the level a little low on the truck with the issue and see if this problem continues.
As far as the DOT, they can get testy when they see fuel leaking.Magoo1968 Thanks this.
