It's not a bad reference, we don't make the laws but we are forced to follow them.
63 in a 55 mph zone is CHP, Sheriff, City, officers discretion, meaning there's a tolerance. There is zero tolerance according to federal Motor Carriers when it comes to drugs, we live and die by it. I agree with NO DRUGS, I also agree that alcohol is a drug. If anyone is over the limit on either it's a disqualifier.
I do not know how someone that "smoked" or did "whatever" 3 months ago and hasn't done so since is a danger to anyone. When according to FMCSA I can drink a beer or any other alcoholic drink 4 hours ago and be ready to drive a big truck or fly a plane. (I was surprised to find that out too)
Not my monkey's, Not my Circus. I only follow the lead clowns rules.
Should we be able to use cannabis on our time off?

And again yes currently it's law stating we can't but with legalization they can change the laws. Until then it's conversation

The precedent, however, is exactly that. The legal framework. As in prohibition. Once it was repealed, should truckers be allowed to drink in their time off? This thread seems to have wandered more off topic than on, and, frankly it's discerning.
Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -

There are a lot of people that can be responsible with alcohol and stay out of trouble without putting anyone else in danger including themselves. Same for marijuana users. Ultimately it’s the responsibility of the individual. Moderation and being responsible. This subject altogether is similar to kicking a dead horse. Just find out the truths before jumping on any outdated wagon. LOL -
I'm sorry, I just had to do it. -
