Tire cracks on pre-trip inspection, change it or run it?

    I don't remember seeing damage like that. Replace it, it's better to take the delay on private property than on the side of the road hoping the smartphone users look up in time to avoid running into your trailer.

    In my experience it seems like every tire replacement takes 2 hours, unless you are in the middle of nowhere or the weather is terrible or it's 2 am.

    I don't disagree with any of the advice, especially as a company driver. For me personally, If I could not see that it was cut clear to the cords, I would run it and keep a close eye on it, but when you pay for your own tires sometimes you view things a bit differently. I believe you did the right thing in your situation.
