Looking at purchasing a 2020 T680 MX13 with 360k miles. I did a RigDig and found that the tractor was with Covenant for about 1 year and then Landair had it for a little over a year. Is it possible this particular tractor might have had issues with both carriers and they let it go?
Truck with possible mechanical issues with 2 different carriers

Covenant owns Landair so on the surface it’s not a red flag. They do sell low mileage units. It’s possible it was also a lease truck through TEL, which they also own.
A used MX13 is a crap shoot IMO. I wouldn’t take that chance.Bean Jr., Last Call and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
I'd be far more concerned about the actual condition of the truck as it sits right now and not worry about hypotheticals.

Well you need to do your due diligence on the truck, spend the money, get the oa, dyno/blowby test and have a mechanic look at the thing.Eddiec Thanks this.

Small motor. You plan on running light most the time??
-
Since it’s a fleet truck it’s probably 455hp.

We run DD13's in carhaul, the only time i miss the extra liters is on the Jake. Our duty cycle is way up there, and power is no issue. I don't know if it's changed, but for a while, you couldn't get the top 505/1850 rating in the DD15, only the DD13.AModelCat Thanks this.

I've seen a few oilfield tridrives with MX13 power. Not a popular choice compared to an X15 but you know darn well they're never running with anything less than a tridem trailer when they go to work.
