So I went and did an extended interview/plant tour kind of thing. Got them to come up $1/hr. after showing that I have a head on my shoulders and know quite a bit about design and function of equipment, various metals,... And I gave the recruiter one of these to show to the powers that be...


He called me less than 10 mins after I left and told me they wanted to increase thier offer from $20 to $21/hr... Which is almost unheard of with this company.

Think I'm going to take it... But am still waiting on another place to get back to me.

But they'll make the offer in less than 6 months.
High dolla, title, maybe a desk, authority, Christmas party........heady stuff to be sure.
Ask the old people around here (including me), if you had to do it all over again, what would you have done?
I'd have stayed where I was. Mostly because if I had, I'd still be there.

Probably know it better than I do, but we don’t live here to be rich— extra buck means you’ll have seniority over the pups and that’s worth quite a bit —after 90 days and a bump they’ll be wanting you to start training the pups

 

Went to the Linemen’s school for Idaho Power when I got out of the service and retired last year with a 6k/m paycheck— other than that it’s been a pretty fun ride
