Remember these mufflers? Going through Atlanta on the bypass, one of these fell off a car in front of me. The muffler bounced high and took off the passenger side mirror. Called it in and the shop refused to give me permission to get the mirror replaced. I had enough fuel to make it back to the terminal, so I drove back to Nashville and stayed in the right lane the whole time.
The shop guy is a real jerk and has never liked me at all for some unknown reason.
He looked at the truck and said he sees some red paint on the right side of the truck and on what was left of the mirror bracket. He said, "You probably put that paint on there yourself, trying cover for hitting something."
I opened the passenger door and took the muffler out and handed it to him. It was scuffed up a bit, but looked brand new. Probably wasn't installed correctly on the car that lost it.
After that, an aluminum ladder fell off a flatbed in front of me. Traffic was running about 70 mph. The ladder damaged the bumper of my truck.
Again, he called me a liar and accused me of hitting something in a parking lot or truck stop.
I had to meet with the terminal manager about the muffler and the ladder. He said there's no way an aluminum ladder can cause damage to a bumper.
Anyway, after that, I never report anything. I could have been fired and had 2 incidents on my DAC. Never again.
Scratched my front bumper pretty badly
