I had something similar happen a few years ago I absolutely BLASTED an aluminum ladder that fell off a construction pickup. Like @Arctic_fox said it annihilated a tie rod.

Appreciate the responses fellas, all the visible components look good to me but I’m still going to have it checked out when I get back to town.
Professor No-Name Thanks this. -
@motocross25 any idea what a hard running driver can make per year at JK? Or what the top driver made last year?
Do y’all have driver facing cameras? Governed speed? Autos or manuals?
I’m not looking but if I were they look like a pretty decent fit. Good looking equipment is something that’s important to me, I don’t have any end dump experience, only dump trucks. But I’ve been around end dumps growing up at House of Rocks and working many years on the loaders at Semco in Belton.Sons Hero, IH9300SBA, Professor No-Name and 1 other person Thank this. -
I can’t directly comment on earnings, but having been in the game for a while they’re definitely one of the few elite fleets running out here, CDJ as well but I don’t believe they hire out your way. One big benefit to dump work, minimal to no wait times, I’m always moving.

We do have cameras that face the driver but they are only tapped into if there is an incident then they can review the footage. They are not watching and due to the rough terrain we get into they do not even send alerts for “events” or anything. The road trucks vary most are 73 mph and the couple 4 or 5 that do the grinding balls I think are set at 77 mph. Every truck is an 18 speed manual. MOST are glider kit Cats, I have one of the few Cummins. They hire people all the time with no end dump experience so that won’t be an issue at all. There’s a 5k sign on bonus and then we get safety bonuses every quarter and they go up with seniority. Insurance is pricey but it’s good. And it’s comparative or less to what other companies have. It’s just the cost of insurance. Week vacation paid after a year and then 2 after 3 years and then I think 3 at 7. But if you need off for anything they never give me any trouble. I mean it’s easily the best place I’ve ever worked. They just send you your dispatch and if you need em, call em. But they definitely leave you alone. I called my dispatcher Friday just to catch up and make sure he was still among the living, I hadn’t Heard from him personally in like 2 weeks. No front radar, no side beeping crap and no Qualcomm. We have tablets that use BigRoad. Off Duty/On Duty/Drive/Sleeper. Those are your options. It’s a cinch. Anymore questions just ask. -
any sort of retirement? Any forced routing or fuel solutions? Where do y’all fuel? I guess you are paid percentage? If so are you paid anything for dead head miles?IH9300SBA and motocross25 Thank this. -
@motocross25 thats awesome you guys can make that kind of money and drive the equipment you do, I pray I can find that one day. Florida is not exactly a hot bed for end dump companies, I do about 64K a year and that’s having worked here for 11 years, I enjoy the work though so I just deal with it for now.
IH9300SBA and motocross25 Thank this. -

Florida would be a 2 week dispatch, that’s a no go for me, I like my mix of local and some longer runs, actually unloaded in anniston yesterday. Not sure where life is bringing us, our house is currently on the market here but real estate has certainly slowed down a bit down here, but our prices are astronomical as well, I really don’t know what the allure to live in Florida is.
Professor No-Name and motocross25 Thank this.
