Oh boy thats a serious issue .. I think the thing to do is start a thread here asking if that is a OOS violation JMO but I think theres a very serious balance issue that should be considered
I honestly can't give you a solid answer as I have always ran wood spoked wheels that I've had custom hand built by the Amish ..

Dang it. That is what we are doing wrong. Those wheels are tough and bend resistant. Never in history has one lost air and caused tandem slider pins to stick due to curbing.Bud A., ncmickey, Last Call and 1 other person Thank this.

Well I can honestly say 100% of the time I have never ever had a issue trying to slide my tandems on my trailer.. I have just always left them in the same postion when I bought it .. But I also don't do drop & hook loadsKyle G. and SmallPackage Thank this.

Do they even make a cattle or welfare wagon that slides? And in the off chance they do will a bent wheel effect them in the same way? Lol

If you have trouble getting tandems to slide just use a bollard, problem solved.

But what size bollard and how deep in the ground should it be? Does being set in asphalt or concrete make a difference? Does paint color matter in its strength and effectiveness like is Red stronger then yellow?buzzarddriver, hope not dumb twucker, Kyle G. and 1 other person Thank this.

Look guys, no matter how you want to take my statements apart, the point is that if the trailer has a bent rim or flat tire, that has to be fixed - the delay is on US.
However, the mechanic has no reason or even a right to inform the receiver, he/she is ignorant of their policy about the truck's condition and it looks like a retaliatory move on the part of the mechanic for some reason.
If this happened on their property, the mechanic had to pass by the guard and they mentioned it in passing, then there is some reasonable doubt as to his intentions.
However, as the OP wrote it in a way where the truck was OFF the property, there was no need for the mechanic to pass through the gates and it was a reasonable distance from the guard shack. Ths begs the question, why would the mechanic do this at all, he wasn't engaged by the receiver to repair and inspect the truck to see if it was damaged enough to pose a safety concern or apply their policies so that the condition went against their policies.
SO yes it is a business ethics issue. As mentioned it is also an integrity issue, the mechanic made a bad decision.
Would I allow this to happen?
No, I would tell the mechanic to fix the problem while he is there, even if it means getting a new rim/tire and delaying the delivery. It is our decision and the delay would be on us. We would talk to someone at the receiver, not a guard for sure, to communicate the delay and see what they want us to do if anything.expedite_it and Hammer166 Thank this. -

Bad decision was on the part of the steering wheel holder and the boss that wouldn't let him fix the real issue.
Everything else is an assumption.
So let's assume
He has a contract with the facility
He is related to the guard
The yard driver that will need to deal with you blaming him for ruining that tire is married to his sister
And his wife is the poor girl that will have to deal with moving the load from one trailer to the next and all the aggravation associated.
The only bad decision here was to try and get away with leaving the tire flat!Last edited: Sep 11, 2023

Give us a explanation why he doesn’t have the right to speak to anyone he wants,about anything that he wants.
